What is the Alabama Numeracy Act?
Why do we need it?
The data from recent years indicates that Alabama’s students are missing the basic math skills needed for college, career, and life. The large population of students who are underprepared will impact the future of our state. As a result, the Alabama Numeracy Act was established in 2022 to improve math instruction and provide support for all K-5 students and teachers across the state to ensure that all students are proficient in mathematics by the end of 5th grade.
