Become a Classified Substitute: Nurses, Secretaries, Cafeteria Workers, Custodians, Bus Drivers

Substitute applications for the above stated classified positions are posted through HireTrue, the official recruitment website for Alabama Schools.
All classified substitute applicants must complete the HireTrue online application process and complete the Fieldprint Background Check process through ALSDE. Once a cleared background review has been obtained, applicants must then provide the following additional requirements:

  • Proof of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Letter of recommendation from the principal/department head at the school/department where the applicant would like to provide substitute services.
  • Copy of valid driver’s license
  • Copy of social security card
  • Nurses must be a Registered Nurse or a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Bus Drivers must have regular license with CDL/ “P” and “S” endorsements, State Department of Education School Bus Driver Certificate, & DOT Physical.

All required documentation must be submitted to the Human Resources Department Supervisor. Once received, applicants will be recommended for board approval to be added to the Marengo County Schools Classified Substitute List.
