“A new Code of Student Conduct is being adopted by the Marengo County Board of Education for the 2026–27 school year.
Code of Student Conduct. This handbook explains what we expect from students, how we handle discipline, and the rights students and families have along the way. It applies to all students in Marengo County Schools, at school and at school events.
- What's expected (be safe, respectful, ready to learn)
- How discipline works (consequences scale with how serious/how often; serious actions like weapons or drugs carry the strongest consequences; students are told what they're accused of and can respond)
- Your rights (fair treatment, to be heard, and — for serious discipline — to appeal; students with disabilities have extra protections)

Report Bullying or Harassment
Report Bullying or Harassment. Every student at Marengo County Schools has the right to feel safe. If you or someone you know is being bullied or harassed, tell us — we take every report seriously and we protect students who report from retaliation.
- Tell a trusted adult at school right away (teacher, counselor, principal)
- File a written report using our complaint form: [link to complaint form (PDF)] (hand it to any staff member or bring it to the front office)
- Who handles it: [name, title, phone, email] reviews every report and follows up
- What happens next: the school looks into the report, keeps it as private as possible, and takes action under the Code of Student Conduct; you'll be told the outcome.
