Alabama Senate Bill 48 - “Parents Right to Know.”

In compliance with Alabama Senate Bill 48, Marengo County Schools is committed to ensuring transparency and providing parents with the right to access curriculum review materials. The former "Alabama Senate Bill 48 - “Parents Right to Know” law has taken effect and is now known as Alabama Act 2024-35 - "Parents Right to Know".

SB48: Curriculum & Instructional Materials

Parents may review the curriculum and instructional materials used in their child's classroom.” Include: a link to the curriculum [link] ; how to request materials — submit to [office/person/email/phone] (the teacher responds within 10 school days); and how to file a complaint — contact [contact] , and [what happens next]

Federal Title I: Teacher Qualifications

Under federal Title I law, you have the right to ask about the professional qualifications of your child's teachers. To request this information, contact [Federal Programs contact] . If your child is taught for four or more weeks by a teacher who is not certified, we will notify you.
